National Memorial Arboretum - Shot at Dawn Memorial
Commemorates 306 British and Commonwealth soldiers who were shot for desertion or cowardice during World War I. The posts behind the effigy of Private Herbert Burden represent all those who were shot. Private Burden was shot at Ypres in 1915 aged 17. In 2006 a posthumous pardon was granted.
