SP3211 : Minster Lovell - Oriel window turret base (SW Tower)
taken 11 years ago, near to Minster Lovell, Oxfordshire, England

At its base is a stone effigy (see close-up SP3211 : Minster Lovell - Stone carving on Southwest Tower)
Sitting on the strap-band at the base of the turret is a white dove (close-up SP3211 : Minster Lovell - White dove on the ruins of the Old Hall) though I cannot guarantee he (or she) will always be there.
See shared description below:
The ruins of the mid C15th Minster Lovell Hall lie between the church of St Kenelm Link and the River Windrush in a very attractive and picturesque site. The hall fell into a ruinous condition in the mid C18th, though an engraving of 1729 Link
suggests it was still in good condition as late as this.
The manor and hall were owned by a number of different people since its construction in 1431/32 for William 7th Lord Lovell. It is now in the care of English Heritage (see Link)
A plan of the ruins can be seen here Link
It is EH Grade I listed Link
and the site is a listed Ancient Monument Link
