Baslow is a village in the Peak District, lying between Sheffield and Bakewell. It is situated on the River Derwent just north of Chatsworth House. The village, part of the Baslow and Bubnell parish, has a population of approximately 1100. The eastern end of the village is called Nether End.

The A619 is an A-road connecting the industrial towns of the East Midlands with the Peak District. It runs for approximately 26 mile between Bakewell and Worksop, passing through Chesterfield.
