"Narrowboating" is a very popular leisure activity. The waterways have been in the control of the CRT (Canal and River Trust) since 12 July 2012 having previously been controlled by the BWB (British Waterways Board).

This is the canal looking north-west towards Stone, which is about three miles ahead.
