Bobbin Mill Ulpha
Bobbin Mill Ulpha
The Bobbin Mill, powered by a waterwheel, used to make Bobbins for the Lancashire cotton industry. Wood shavings from the process were taken away by the children to heat the local school. It closed in 1910 and the buildings are currently a house and holiday apartments. The "tower" to the extreme left is a chimney which unfortunately has been allowed to become totally overgrown with ivy.
