Derelict rectory - Derrigimlagh Townland
This derelict building in the centre of the photograph is the former rectory for Ballindoon Parish of the Church of Ireland. Holy Trinity church (demolished circa 1958) and graveyard were located to the north-east and all that can be identified are one or two grave crosses.
According to the OSI 1:2500 scale map the building on the right seems to occupy the same footprint as a school that previously occupied the space. According to Tim Robinson in "Connemara Part 1: Introduction and Gazetteer" this was the former Protestant orphans' school.
