Hubberts Bridge Down distant signal detail
Hubberts Bridge Down distant signal detail
The small opening at the back of the signal light allows the signaller to check from a distance at night that the light is functioning and also the position of the signal arm. The curved shutter obscures the light when the arm is raised to the clear position.
