Fungi on a Sycamore stump
Fungi on a Sycamore stump
A lovely growth of Honey Fungus [Armillaria mellea] on the stump of a large Sycamore on the Cramond promenade. The tree was still standing in 2005, but had gone by 2009, according to Google earth imagery. For more details see NT1977 : Honey fungus at Cramond and NT1977 : Honey fungus rhizomorphs.
