Culvert under the B5289
Culvert under the B5289
What at first glance I thought was an underpass for pedestrians across the B5289 road connecting Keswick and the A66 actually appears to be a culvert under the embankment. I'm unsure whether it's been provided for water, wildlife, or very short people. I might have crawled through but there was a couple of inches of water laying in the bottom of the underpass. Pedestrians are expected to climb the embankment, cross the busy road, then descend an embankment on the other side.
