Arley station, Severn Valley Railway, with train 1990
View NW, towards Bridgnorth and formerly Shrewsbury. The ex-GWR line Shrewsbury - Bewdley was closed in 9/63, but was reopened, Bridgnorth - Hampton Loade in 1970 by the celebrated Heritage Severn Valley Railway, subsequently on to Bewdley and Kidderminster. The Bridgnorth - Kidderminster train here in August 1990 is headed by BR Standard Class 4MT 4-6-0 No. 75069 (built 7/55, withdrawn 9/66 but preserved). In the siding here at Arley can also be seen Stanier 5MT 4-6-0 No. 45110 and Ivatt 2-6-0 No. 43106. The station is very nicely restored to its earlier GWR condition.
