taken 20 years ago, 3 km from Bolton Abbey, North Yorkshire, England

Lower Waterfall, Posforth Gill
Lower Waterfall, Posforth Gill
Posforth Gill flows down the Valley of Desolation in Wharfedale. The name was coined following a 19c flood. The valley is now far from being desolate and the name seems to be now a misnomer. The valley is now a popular route to the high moorland to the NE.
