Market Place, Peterborough in 1929
Taken by my paternal grandfather, George W Baker of an open space that was to be renamed Cathedral Square in 1963. The lady sitting on the motorbike, with the number-plate NK 7927, was my grandmother Janet. The motorbike had a sidecar and features in several family photographs until my grandfather could afford to buy a car. In the background is The Guildhall which was built in 1671 to commemorate the Restoration of Charles II.
