taken 11 years ago, 4 km N of Bardon Mill, Northumberland, England

Knag Burn culvert through Hadrian's Wall
Knag Burn culvert through Hadrian's Wall
The flagstones in the foreground carry the Hadrian's Wall Trail footpath over the stream. The culvert is just west of the Knag Burn Gateway through the wall, east of Housesteads Fort NY7968 : The Knag Burn Gate. Pevsner (1992) describes the Wall here as 'horribly neatly over-restored.'
