St Michael's church, Martin by Horncastle
Grade II listed.
The church dates from the 12th century onwards with restoration in the 18th and 19th centuries.
The church consists of a nave and chancel. The East window of the chancel is 13th century, there is a similar window of that age in the South wall.
The South doorway is late 12th century but with extensive 19th-century restoration. The capitals of the shafts bear small human masks.
The chancel is late 12th century with a 13th century arch. In the north wall of the nave is an arched recess for a tomb. There is a 13th century piscina, but other fittings are 19th century, the pulpit and font being in a 13th century style.

There is a plaque to John Oldham, died 1818, in the chancel. He died from a brain fever aged 37 and is buried with his son who died in infancy.
The church was restored in 1877, however it appears little used now.
