Symonds Yat tunnel - east portal
The east portal of the short former railway tunnel at Symonds Yat. At 440 yards, the tunnel was the shorter of the two tunnels on the Ross and Monmouth Railway. It opened with the line in 1873 and closed in 1959 when the section of line from Monmouth to Lydbrook closed to all traffic.
