Site of Lydbrook exchange sidings
Here was where three or four long sidings were constructed to facilitate the exchange of freight between the Ross - Monmouth Railway and the Severn & Wye Railway, which joined the R&M at Lydbrook station. This meant that Lydbrook station had four platform faces - although the Severn & Wye platforms were not used much as their passenger service ceased in 1929 - making it the largest station on the Wye Valley network.
