Workboats at Pollard Lane bridge near Newlay, Leeds and Liverpool Canal
Various workboats and other equipment have been moored or parked during the weekend. During the week they are used on the improvements to the towpath.
Towpath Works in Kirkstall & Newlay, winter 2014-15
The towpath of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal between Kirkstall Bridge (SE258354) and Newlay Bridge (SE2400366) has been undergoing major restoration during the winter of 2014-15. The towpath has been widened in places and given a new tarmac surface. This has resulted in the towpath being closed, mostly on weekdays.
It looks like a lot of overhanging trees have been cut back on the opposite (south) side of the canal as well.
