View SSE, not far from Roehampton Gate. The bridge carrying the Roehampton Gate-Robin Hood Gate road is just visible in the distance.

A number of the pollard willows seen in this picture are growing in a semi-recumbent position. Regular pollarding reduces the area of 'sail', and lessens the chances of a tree being blown over.

Richmond Park is a National Nature Reserve.
