taken 11 years ago, near to Dunstan, Northumberland, England

Dunstanburgh Castle from Scrog Hill
Dunstanburgh Castle from Scrog Hill
The area around the castle was dominated by three shallow artificial lakes, called meres, and accessed by three gates on the north, west and south sides.
In the centre is a remnant of the North Mere with the West Gate on its right.
Further right is the now boggy South Mere.
