Newcastle-under-Lyme: escorted heavy load passes through Nelson Place
Such heavy/wide loads moving through the area are routinely routed along the A34, which at this point passes through Newcastle-under-Lyme town itself. It has probably taken Barracks Road (A527) and is here entering Ryecroft (A52) before regaining the A34 northwards.
The object being transported by ALE is coming into view on the right. It is a high-voltage transformer made at Alstom's Stafford factory, making its way to Ellesmere Port or the Port of Liverpool.
