All Together Now
All Together Now, a sculpture by Andrew Edwards on display at St Luke's Church, near Goodison Park on 7th February 2014 - derby day, with Everton FC hosting Liverpool FC at a 17:30 kick-off. The sculpture commemorates the brave young men who took part in the 1914 Christmas truce in the Great War. The sculpture's name is inspired by a song by the Liverpool band The Farm. It depicts the meeting of a British and German soldier in the mud of Flanders. The soldiers appear to be shaking hands, but in fact are not quite touching - there is space for the visitor to insert his/her own hand to complete the union.
