Stow Bardolph Holy Trinity church
Stow Bardolph church is built mainly of carstone and has that lovely gingerbread appearance, although much restored. To the north is a 16th c. chancel chapel dedicated to the Hare family who have had a strong association with the church for over 400 years. In it are hatchments and many colourful and immodest grand memorials to prominent members of the family. In a tall cupboard is a wax effigy of Sarah Hare (1744). Link The 17th c. font has geometric designs and a tall cover. Each side of the chancel arch are the Decalogue boards in their original position. The pulpit, although stone, is well carved as if it were wooden. Both nave and chancel have a Victorian wagon-roof with bosses at the intersections, coeval with the poppy-head benches. Post-Commonwealth Carolean Royal Arms hang on the wall.
