Piccadilly Wheel
Piccadilly Wheel
A new Ferris wheel was installed in Piccadilly Gardens in time for the 2013 Christmas and New Year festivities.

The original 190ft “Manchester Wheel” (SJ8398 : The Manchester Wheel, Exchange Square) had become an iconic Manchester landmark since it was first installed in 2007 in Exchange Square. It was dismantled in 2012 to make way for the Olympic celebrations.

The new wheel, standing at 173 feet, is not as tall as the last one; it was planned for it to stay in Piccadilly Gardens until January 2015, but it wasn't dismantled until June of that year.
