The main bunker is to the right and loads the lurry cars that fill the ovens from above. The large gantry allows kit to be lifted on and off the battery (there's a JCB up there). The large black lump under the gantry is the pushing machine that travels on rails along the battery and pushes the coke out of the opposite side of the ovens for quenching.

This was a very exciting spectacle and clearly visible from the public road. Unfortunately the works closed in December 2014 and my colleague who had not seen a coke works before was left to imagine the drama.
