Shefferlands Bridge under construction
Shefferlands Bridge under construction
Retaining walls have been erected on both sides of the bridge. The embankment is being built up on both sides of the bridge. This provides support to the bridge itself, allowing both lanes to be opened under the bridge. (When the bridge was free-standing, there was a risk that it would collapse if a vehicle collided with it.)
