The Mourne Wall
The Mourne Wall was built over a period of 18 years between 1904 and 1922 as a job creation scheme by the Belfast Water Commissioners to enclose the Mourne Catchment. The statistics of the wall are impressive - 35 km long, and an average of 2.5 m high and 1 m wide.
