taken 10 years ago, near to Arkley, Barnet, England

Arkley: Arkley Water Tower
Arkley: Arkley Water Tower
This unusual water tower is located in the apex of the junction between Rowley Green Road and Rowley Lane. Looked at in plan on satellite imagery it has the shape of a snowflake with six large angled protrusions from its central core. It was built in 1965 to the designs of the architects Scherrer and Hicks and is almost unique in the UK, the only other tower having a similar snowflake design being TG2618 : Water Tower in Horstead in Norfolk.
