taken 7 years ago, near to Cargate Green, Norfolk, Great Britain

Upton Broad and its surrounding marshes and fenland are located in the Bure Valley. Situated on the southern side of the River Bure the area covers over 260 hectares. The southern half contains a wide range of internationally and nationally important open water, calcareous fen, transitional mire and carr woodland, supporting a diverse array of plants and animals including fen orchid, bearded tit, bittern, water vole, swallowtail, Norfolk hawker and diving beetle.
A series of permissive footpaths provided by Norfolk Wildlife Trust lead through the Upton Broad and Marshes nature reserve, passing through a nationally-important wetland habitat, including fen, reedbed and grazing marsh. A small car park is available at the entrance of the site at Holly Farm and a public car park is in Upton village.
