The bank is one of numerous low fells in the relatively little-known area west of the lower reaches of Coniston Water. It actually has a summit cairn so someone else must also have thought it worthy of an ascent. The views north are towards The Beacon and Wool Knott, slightly higher fells and the much grander Dow Crag and Old Man of Coniston group beyond. Interestingly, the name on the OS 1:25 000 map is given as 'Houlker' - the sign on the farm below is 'Houkler Hall' so this may be a rare OS mistake.
