Solar PV output in eclipse behind cloud
Solar PV output in eclipse behind cloud
During a solar eclipse the sun was completely hidden behind cloud, but the low amount of light getting through reduced the output from solar PV panels to zero then back up over about two hours. The panels can produce 2.4 kw. so the 48 watts before the eclipse and 87 watts after shows the low light level.
Solar Eclipse - 20 March 2015

A partial solar eclipse occurred over the whole of Britain between about 0830-1030 on 20 March 2015. The next one of any consequence is on 12 August 2026 – it will be total across Iceland, the Atlantic and Spain, with a very large partial eclipse across Britain with western Ireland at around 95% eclipsed, falling to 83% in London.

The Wikipedia site is excellent – a click on any date of the future eclipses opens up a new page with full details and animation.
