With the weather overcast and also with some low-lying mist a reasonably large number of people went to the high ground of the hill fort at Bratton Camp in order to get as good a view of the eclipse as possible. Most people stayed close to the completely full car park but a few went here to the perimeter banking.
As it was, the sun was mostly behind a thin screen of cloud/mist which further attenuated the light from the sections not obscured by the moon. However, this still allowed a reasonable view of the eclipse

Solar Eclipse - 20 March 2015
A partial solar eclipse occurred over the whole of Britain between about 0830-1030 on 20 March 2015. The next one of any consequence is on 12 August 2026 – it will be total across Iceland, the Atlantic and Spain, with a very large partial eclipse across Britain with western Ireland at around 95% eclipsed, falling to 83% in London.
