The time is 9.36 am. The solar eclipse has just passed its peak. The sky darkened but briefly. Although there was some thin blue sky the sun was just behind the clouds and looked little different than normal.

A partial solar eclipse occurred over the whole of Britain between about 0830-1030 on 20 March 2015. The next one of any consequence is on 12 August 2026 – it will be total across Iceland, the Atlantic and Spain, with a very large partial eclipse across Britain with western Ireland at around 95% eclipsed, falling to 83% in London.
