Meccano Bridge north of Compton, Wolverhampton
Meccano Bridge north of Compton, Wolverhampton
Bridge No 60A. The Warren Truss Bridge.
This very substantial steel bridge built in 1914 carried the short-lived Wolverhampton to Stourbridge (via Wombourne) railway across the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal. The Meccano reference is to the famous model making system invented by Frank Hornby in 1901. LinkExternal link Category: Canal bridge
