Awbridge Bridge north of Wombourne, Staffordshire
Awbridge Bridge north of Wombourne, Staffordshire
Bridge No 49 across the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal. Awbridge Lock is beyond the bridge.

The British Listed Buildings website says that the canal was opened through Wombourne parish in 1770; the engineer being James Brindley. Awbridge bridge and lock may represent his first attempt at combining a lock and a bridge on a public road. LinkExternal link
