Built c 1836 by John Dobson for Richard Grainger. Uniquely in the whole of Grey Street, two thirds of the original facade was demolished and (inappropriately) rebuilt in 1910. Renovations in 1969 removed the alterations and replaced the facade in the style of the original - except for the ground floor which has an additional floor inserted.
