NY6663 : Waterfall on Small Burn

taken 11 years ago, near to Greenhead, Northumberland, England

Waterfall on Small Burn
Waterfall on Small Burn
Some parts of this are man made.
Looking at maps on Keys to the Past from 1856-1865 there only appear to be the burn and waterfall marked.
1894-1899 a pond appears above the waterfall so was the man made structure a dam with a sluice?
Maps up to 1980 show the pond as a faint line with the burn running through it which could indicate that pond no longer existed.
Maps after 1980 don't show the pond.
