Edge of Foxbury Plantation, Half Moon Common, New Forest
This is the western edge of Foxbury Plantation where it borders Half Moon Common, just east of the National Trust public car park. The National Trust has recently purchased Foxbury Plantation from the Longford Estate. Once the commercial timber in the plantation has been felled (over a 10 year period) the NT will restore the area to heathland and deciduous woodland, as it was in the past. Once the restoration is complete the area will be open to public access, as Half Moon Common is now.
