Built c 1837, probably by John Wardle, for Richard Grainger. The central 5-bay pavilion has six giant Ionic fluted columns, with the right hand three being shorter to accommodate the change in ground level along the street. The buildings are Grade II listed LinkExternal link .

Nos. 19-27 (shown in part on the left) are the return of NZ2464 : Earl Grey House, 77-85 Grey Street & 19-27 Market Street, NE1. Nos. 29-39 were formerly Bainbridge's department store; it was taken over by John Lewis in 1952, and relocated to Eldon Square in 1976 LinkExternal link .
