Former quarry and remains of lime kilns at Leckhampton Hill
Former quarry and remains of lime kilns at Leckhampton Hill
The hill was quarried extensively and supplied much of the stone to build Cheltenham. The lime kilns were built in 1924 but have long been derelict and only the stone bases survive. The hill is now owned by the Council and is a nature reserve and very popular with walkers and other outdoor types.
