NU0545 : Anti-tank defences beside the North Low

taken 9 years ago, near to Goswick, Northumberland, England

Anti-tank defences beside the North Low
Anti-tank defences beside the North Low
The low lying nature of much of the Northumberland coast made it particularly liable to invasion during World War II. Much of this coast features anti-tank concrete blocks, although many, like those seen here, have been partly or completely overwhelmed by encroaching sand.
