36-92 Clayton Street, NE1 (part) (2)
Built c 1837, probably by John Wardle, for Richard Grainger. The west side of Clayton Street between Newgate Street and Fenkle Street consists of 28 3-bay houses: (from north to south) a six-bay wing, a nine-bay link, and a six-bay pavilion, after which the rest of the houses are built in a continuous terrace, with slight changes in level and direction as the street falls gently to the south. The photo shows that part of the terrace around the (off-centre) pavilion. The buildings further to the north are shown in NZ2464 : 36-92 Clayton Street, NE1 (part). The buildings are Grade II listed Link
