This is the only one of the 28 houses in the terrace on the west side of Clayton Street between Newgate Street and Fenkle Street that has an altered facade. It has had a huge curved window inserted into its first floor, and decorative window heads, pilasters, ball-finials and dormers added above. [The adjacent two houses to the north have had mansard roofs added.] The location of No. 64 is shown in NZ2464 : 36-92 Clayton Street, NE1 (part) (3).
