Lord's Cricket Ground: the first ball of the 2015 season
The County Championship match between Middlesex and Nottinghamshire got under way some moments before the scheduled start at 11.0 and Stephen Mullaney let Tim Murtagh's first ball go by outside the off stump. Mullaney's partner, the former Zimbabwean Test player Brendan Taylor (No 1) went on to score a century on his Championship debut for Notts. The wicket became increasingly benign, and despite being able to set the hosts 519 to win, Notts were unable to bowl them out and the match was drawn on the fourth afternoon. The Pavilion forms the backdrop to this view from the upper deck of the Compton Stand at the Nursery End.
