NH1924 : Top of the exclosure, on Am Meallan

taken 7 years ago, near to Am Meallan [hill or Mountain], Highland, Great Britain

Top of the exclosure, on Am Meallan
This fence is at the top edge of woodland, on the slopes of Am Meallan. Much of this area was covered by conifer plantation, including Scots pine, Lodgepole pine, and larch. The plantation is now being thinned and removed, to allow regeneration of the native Caledonian forest. The fence around the exclosure will reduce grazing by deer.
