Back of North Parade terrace houses
These houses are stone built and were originally for workers in the various industries in Otley, including the Silvine stationery works of William Sinclair and son. This stationery manufacturer was founded by William Sinclair, a 21 year old printer and book binder of Otley in 1837 in Wetherby. In 1854 he moved back to Otley and established the factory which is still in operation today.
