St Peter's Church Asterby

Like many churches in this part of the Lincolnshire Wolds, Asterby church is built out of the local Lower Cretaceous sandstone, a poor building material which weathers easily but was readily available. The church is now empty and disused, a fate which mirrors that of Asterby itself which was once a village but now consists of little more than a couple of cottages and a farm.
