SJ9354 : Gratton Lane Well, Endon

taken 19 years ago, near to Endon, Staffordshire, England

Gratton Lane Well, Endon
Gratton Lane Well, Endon
The well at Gratton Lane, Endon, with old cottages and the ford beyond. The well is decorated for the annual well dressing which takes place over the last weekend in May. The wells in Endon are particularly colourful as full flower heads are used, unlike many Derbyshire well dressings which use petals, leaves, twigs and other natural materials pressed into soft clay on wooden boards.
