Hoarding in Minster Yard protecting a flowerbed planted with around 40,000 Tulip and Hyacinth bulbs donated by the Dutch Government. To mark the 70th anniversary of 'Operation Manna' in April 2015, they will have flowered to create a floral mosaic of a Lancaster bomber dropping food to starving people in Holland in the final days of WW2.
For 10 days from 29 April 1945, Lancaster bombers from Lincolnshire flew 3,298 sorties dropping nearly 7,000 tonnes of food to millions of starving people in The Netherlands LinkExternal link
