The reservoir was built by Charles Adderley 1st Baron Norton in the 1880s. Originally built to supply Birmingham with water it now supplies Nuneaton and Coventry. The reservoir is managed by Severn Trent Water.It is an important recreational facility with circular walks and a range of water sports.
