Construction site, Slyne Road (A6)
Looking east along the route of the Heysham to M6 link road. The A6 currently crosses where the red & white barriers and temporary traffic lights are.
The temporary bridge SD4764 : Temporary bridge over Slyne Road (A6) was removed early in 2015, to enable work to start on the permanent bridge which will carry the A6 over the new road. The abutments for the new bridge are now being constructed.
The occasion was a ""Welly Walk"" along the route of the Heysham to M6 link road, organised by the local hospice and Costain, the main contractor.
